Celebrate Computer Science week by spending an hour in the library learning to code. Tutorials will walk you through creating your first computer program or teach you more advanced programming. You'll have several tutorials to choose from. Everyone who completes an hour of code will earn a certificate. We'll also have refreshments and prizes. All students are welcome!

Why Celebrate Banned Books Week?The freedom to choose what we read and to be able to select what we want to read from a wide range of possibilities is firmly rooted in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution which guarantees the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press. Those who challenge books or seek to ban generally have good intentions - they want to keep inappropriate material away from children. While individuals have every right to restrict what they or their own children read, they do not have the right to prevent others from choosing to read that material. It's important that we acknowledge and even celebrate our freedom in order to help preserve it.
